If your furnace, boiler, or air conditioner isn’t working as it should, here are some common signs that it may need repair:
General Signs for Any HVAC System:
Strange Noises – Banging, rattling, grinding, or squealing sounds can indicate mechanical issues.
Unusual Smells – Musty, burning, or gas-like odors could signal a serious problem.
Inconsistent Temperatures – If some rooms are too hot or too cold, your system may not be working efficiently.
Higher Energy Bills – A sudden increase in energy costs can mean your system is struggling to run properly.
Frequent Cycling – If your system turns on and off too often, it may be overheating or not running efficiently.
Weak or No Airflow – Poor airflow could be due to a clogged filter, a failing blower motor, or other mechanical issues.
Signs Specific to Furnaces & Boilers:
No Heat or Insufficient Heat – If your furnace or boiler isn’t producing enough heat, there could be an issue with the thermostat, pilot light, or burner.
Dry or Dusty Air – A malfunctioning furnace can impact indoor air quality, causing excessive dryness or dust buildup in your home.
Water Leaks (Boilers) – Any visible water pooling around your boiler may mean there’s a leak or pressure problem.
Signs Specific to Air Conditioners:
Warm Air Instead of Cool Air – If your AC is blowing warm air, there may be a refrigerant issue, a clogged filter, or a failing compressor.
Ice Buildup on Coils – Frozen coils can indicate airflow problems or refrigerant issues.
Excess Humidity Indoors – If your AC isn’t controlling humidity, it may not be functioning properly.
If you notice any of these issues, don’t wait for a breakdown! Call us at 920-336-0431, and we’ll send out a technician to diagnose the problem and get your system back in top shape.

If your air conditioner isn’t cooling properly, follow these steps before calling for service:
Check Your Thermostat – Ensure it's set to “Cool” and the temperature is lower than the current room temperature.
Inspect Your Air Filter – A dirty or clogged filter can restrict airflow and reduce cooling efficiency. If it’s dirty, replace it.
Verify Your Vents Are Open – Make sure all supply and return vents are open and not blocked by furniture or other objects.
Check the Circuit Breaker – If your AC isn’t turning on, a tripped breaker could be the issue. Reset it if necessary.
Look for Ice Buildup – If you see ice on your indoor or outdoor unit, turn off the system and let it thaw before restarting.
Ensure the Outdoor Unit is Clear – Leaves, debris, or overgrown vegetation around the unit can restrict airflow. Clear away any obstructions.
If you've checked these things and your AC is still not cooling or you have further questions, give us a call at 920-336-0431, and we’ll be happy to assist you!

If you suspect your thermostat is malfunctioning, look for these common signs:
Incorrect Temperature Reading – If the displayed temperature doesn’t match the actual room temperature, your thermostat may not be sensing correctly.
Unresponsive or Blank Display – A thermostat that doesn’t turn on, has a blank screen, or won’t respond to adjustments could indicate a power issue. Check the batteries or circuit breaker.
HVAC System Won’t Turn On or Off – If your heating or cooling system doesn’t start when expected or runs constantly, the thermostat might not be communicating properly.
Inconsistent Temperatures – If some rooms feel too hot or too cold despite the thermostat settings, there may be a sensor or calibration issue.
Frequent Short Cycling – If your system turns on and off too quickly, the thermostat may be misreading temperatures or causing improper cycling.
Troubleshooting Tips to Try:
Replace the batteries (if applicable).
Ensure the thermostat is set to the correct mode (Heat or Cool).
Reset the thermostat to factory settings.
If you’re still experiencing issues, give us a call at 920-336-0431! One of our experienced technicians can come out to diagnose the problem and provide the necessary repairs or recommend a replacement if needed.
